What this is.
What is P’nimiyut?
P’nimiyut is a small body of work — teachings, meditations, and study rooted in Kabbalah and Jewish wisdom — for the woman whose inner life and everyday life have become two different things. It moves in one simple order: read, practice, study, and, when the season asks for it, be accompanied.
What does “P’nimiyut” mean?
P’nimiyut (פנימיות) means inwardness — the inner dimension. In Torah learning, pnimiyut haTorah is the inner soul of the Torah: the teachings of Kabbalah and Chassidut. The name states the whole intention — the inner life of what you already know.
Who is P’nimiyut for?
For the woman who is tired of her inner life and her everyday life being two different things. Some arrive with years of learning; some, like Sarah Leah herself, did not grow up with Judaism at all. What they share is the wish for ground, not more theory — real sources, explained plainly, with a practice that fits an ordinary Tuesday.
Who is Sarah Leah?
Sarah Leah Melissa Sarramalho is the founder of P’nimiyut — Melissa Sarramalho is her legal name; Sarah Leah is her Hebrew name, and the name she likes to be called. Born in Montreal, she spent years in Latin America, Lisbon, and Paris before coming back home. She discovered her Jewish roots after her mother passed away, when she was sixteen, and has been building her relationship with Hashem through Torah, Kabbalah, Mussar, and the continuing work of teshuvah since. Alongside her studies in psychology, she spent years learning the inner side of Jewish wisdom — looking for answers that psychology, for all it taught her, didn’t have. In her own words: she is not an expert; she is a student who shares what she learns. Read her story.
What is the P’nimiyut Method™?
The method draws on Torah, Kabbalah, and Mussar, and on what Sarah Leah has learned alongside them from psychology and somatic work. The body and the mind each know things in their own way; inner work grows in mind, soul, and body together, and each one opens the next. Returning to Her is the first written volume of the method, and the 40-Day Journal is built on its five pillars.
What sources do the teachings draw on?
Kabbalah and Chassidut — primarily Rav Yitzchak Ginsburgh and the Gal Einai framework — alongside Talmud, Tehillim, Mussar, and the wider stream of Jewish inner thought. Sources are named inside the teachings so you can check them and learn further on your own.
Is this therapy?
No. P’nimiyut is Torah education and spiritual guidance. It is not therapy, counseling, or medical or psychological care, and it is not a substitute for them. Private work is a teacher-student relationship, and the application form asks you to confirm you understand this.
Beginning.
Where should I start?
Read one teaching — that is the front door. If you want a practice right away, begin with Morning Alignment, a free meditation: a few minutes of returning the day to its source, before the world asks anything of you. From there, one meditation chosen by the state you are living in, then the journal for rhythm, then the course for a coherent method. There is no hurry; each step waits for the one before it.
Do I need to know Hebrew or Kabbalah to begin?
No. Each Hebrew letter and concept is introduced in plain language, and every teaching explains what it needs as it goes. If you can read a page and sit still for a few minutes, you can begin.
Is the Morning Alignment meditation really free?
Yes. Subscribe with your email on the Begin page and the player and download unlock. It is yours to keep, and from time to time Sarah Leah sends a letter with new pieces and short essays.
What is the Soul Compass?
A free written guide to the five levels of the soul, adapted for everyday use. It opens with a four-question self-check to locate your inner state — scattered, heavy, closed, or restless — and matches each state with a short practice built around a Hebrew word or letter. It offers practices for the four levels that can be met in everyday experience; the fifth, yechidah, is the wholeness beneath them all. Subscribe with your email on the Soul Compass page and the PDF unlocks — yours to keep.
Which meditation should I start with?
If you are new, begin with the free Morning Alignment; Breath & Soul is the natural next step, staying close to the same ground — the breath that is also the soul. After that, choose by the state you are living in: each meditation names the state it was made for. All five together are $78 (they come to $98 bought one at a time).
The meditations.
What exactly do I receive when I buy a meditation?
Each meditation is an audio recording (MP4) sent to your email shortly after purchase; some include a companion PDF. It is yours to keep — no app, no subscription, no expiry. Download it to your phone or computer and return to it as many times as you need, offline. Browse the library.
Are there refunds?
Because the recordings are digital and yours the moment they arrive, all sales are final. If anything goes wrong with delivery, write to hello@pnimiyut.com and it will be made right.
The course & the journal.
What is the Returning to Her course?
A four-lesson, self-paced course in Kabbalah — the first written volume of the P’nimiyut Method™ — for the woman who is tired of her inner life and her everyday life being two different things. Each lesson is a doorway: a Sefirah, a Hebrew letter, a practice, and a question to sit with, plus a bonus lesson to walk you forward. $180, one payment, includes the Sefirot map, affirmation cards, a complimentary workbook, and recordings of every meditation in the course — nine in all. It is a written volume you read at your own pace, not a live course; there is no schedule to keep. Read about the course.
What is the 40-Day Journal?
A hardcover companion to the practice: forty days of return, built on the five pillars of the P’nimiyut Method™. Each day carries three short practices — a teaching to read, a somatic prompt for the body, and a reflection for the heart. One Hebrew letter anchors each week, and every week ends at Shabbat with a page laid down. $48, sold and fulfilled by Amazon. Look inside the journal.
Private work.
What is private work with Sarah Leah like?
Sixty minutes on video — Zoom or WhatsApp, whichever is simpler for you, across time zones. You bring what the season is asking of you; there is no fixed calendar, and each session waits until you are ready for it. $260 per session, no minimum, by application. The ground is Torah; the method blends psychology and somatic work, in plain language. It is spiritual guidance, not therapy. Read about private work.
How does the application for private work work?
You write a short note through the application page — what you’re applying for and what brings you to this work; a few sentences is plenty. Sarah Leah reads every application personally and replies, normally within a week or so, with her availability — and honestly, whether she believes she can help with what you are carrying. If she is not the right person, she will say so kindly.
What is The Inner Chamber?
A season of one-to-one work with the materials laid alongside it: the full Returning to Her course — with all its recorded meditations — and four private sessions. $1,080, where the pieces assembled separately come to $1,220. Application only; a payment plan is available upon request.
Practical things.
Do you work in languages other than English?
The site and materials are written in English. Sarah Leah also speaks French and Portuguese — if something speaks to you in either, write to her.
Can I ask a question without booking anything?
Yes — through the Listen page (“Send a question”). Questions about the texts, about your practice, about your own inner life; the ones that ask for an answer often become a podcast episode. For anything else — collaborations, podcast interviews, brand partnerships, speaking and workshops, media — the contact page or hello@pnimiyut.com.
Where can I listen to the podcast?
P’nimiyut is a seasonal audio journal — short teachings, longer thoughts, and the occasional meditation, with new episodes when there is something worth saying. The Listen page has the podcast links, plus YouTube (@melissasarra) for occasional videos and written essays read aloud.
